(19 Mins) We Beat the Rats! - (Ihna Ghalabna Al-Far)

Rats were causing serious damage to food and livestock in Egyptian villages, and strong poisons were being used. In this project, local women were persuaded to adopt live traps instead and encouraged to use imaginative ways of outwitting the rats. The resulting footage has implications for public health, marketing of pest control, the role of women in managing rural society, and eliminating perceptions of rural people as ignorant and incapable of innovation. Emphasis is on interviews with local women.
