NaTakallam

PLEASE NOTE: FOLLOWING THE LOSS OF FEDERAL TITLE VI FUNDING IN 2022, THE MIDDLE EAST CENTER IS NO LONGER OFFERING OPPORTUNITIES FOR K-12 EDUCATORS. WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO RESUME THESE PROGRAMS IN 2026. TEXT BELOW IS MAINTAINED FOR INFORMATIONAL AND REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY.

Engaging, immersive language practice and cultural exchange with NaTakallam

NaTakallam ("we speak" in Arabic) connects forcibly displaced persons with language and cultural exchange students around the world, providing them with economic opportunity, purpose, and re-gained dignity. Displaced people have self-generated over $400,000 through their work with NaTakallam.

The Middle East Center is thrilled to partner with NaTakallam to bring virtual guest speaker sessions to K-12 schools in the Delaware Valley and beyond. Programs can be conducted in English or Arabic (or a blend of both), as a three-part series on migration, the crisis in Syria, and other topics related to the Middle East.
