Mountain, The

(32 mins) Filmed in the Arab villages of Jish and Kafer-Beram in northern Israel, this drama focuses on the topic of elopement as an escape from pre-arranged marriage. The film is an excellent example of the strength of a tradition important to both Christian and Muslim Arabs. A significant work by a young Palestinian graduate from UCLA film school who struggles to come to terms with the West and his own traditions.
