Nicholas Foretek is a PhD candidate in history at the University of Pennsylvania. His dissertation considers the relationship between emergent British intelligence collection strategies and sovereign debt in Egypt from 1876-1914.  He received an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BA from the University of Chicago.
