Mert Deniz

Mert Deniz received his B.A. at the Faculty of Language and History-Geography of Ankara University. In his dissertation, he studied the media reflections of American-Turkish relations during the Korean War and Turkey’s commitment to NATO. He continued his education at the History Department of Bilkent University and received an M.A. with a thesis on the foreign policies of the United States and Russia during the First World War. At present, he is a Ph.D. Candidate at the American Culture and Literature Department of Hacettepe University, and he is affiliated with TED University as an Instructor. He is also a Visiting Fulbright Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. Since his primary research field is the diplomatic and political history of the United States, in his current research, he examines American-Ottoman relations with an emphasis on the American missionaries and educators in the Middle East.
