Jenan Abu Shtaya

Penn Law Student

Jenan is an SJD student at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. She is interested in the relationship between physical spaces and legal systems. For her doctoral dissertation, Jenan studies the history of planning regulations in Palestine – Israel, focusing on the colonial dynamics that led to the spatial, economic and social exclusion of the native Palestinians. Prior to her SJD studies, Jenan completed her LLM degree at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School as a Fulbright fellow (2021) and received her LLB degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2018)
