Sarah Badlis works part-time as undergraduate student assistant at the Middle East Center, where she oversees event engagement and the center’s social media platforms. She helped organize the MEC’s Tamazight Language Workshop in 2019, speaking to members of the Penn community about the language and culture in Ghardaia, a majority Amazigh province in southern Algeria.
Outside the MEC, Sarah is a junior pursuing a B.S. in Nursing. She’s also Treasurer of the Muslim Students’ Association, a peer advisor for Student Nurses at Penn, and a volunteer for Penn Nursing’s Community Champions. Sarah’s interests include healthcare reform, community engagement, and Arab/Berber culture and language. She speaks fluent Tomzabt, a Tamazight language, and intermediate Arabic.
