Richard McAlexander is a Political Scientist specializing in International Relations, and is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Perry World House at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his PhD from Columbia University in 2020. His primary interests are in political violence, terrorism, nonviolent resistance, and imperialism. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in International Studies Quarterly, The Journal of Politics, Research & Politics, The Journal of Global Security Studies, Review of Policy Research, Cold War History and the Washington Post. His book project examines violent and nonviolent anti-colonial resistance within the British Empire after World War I. His research on the Middle East analyzes the 1936-1939 revolt and the 1948 war in Mandate Palestine through the lens of the Palestinian village.
