Ahmad Al-Sholi

PhD candidate, Stony Brook University

Ahmad Al-Sholi is a Sociologist specializing in the Political Economy of the Middle East and North Africa, and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Stony Brook University. His work focuses on the industrial triangular relation of state, capital, and labor that is at the center of both economic development and social upheavals. Applying comparative–historical methods, his dissertation investigates the determinants of business classes’ response to the Arab Spring Uprisings since 2010. Al-Sholi’s work has appeared most recently in POMEPS Studies.
